Works with your Plaud, in the room and on phone calls.
Hosting in Europe only covers where recordings sit. The AI that
transcribes and summarises them hears every word, so Kasset runs
that in France too, and never lets a bot into your call.
Both companies are European. The questions that separate them are who
runs the AI, and whether a bot has to join your meetings.

Questions?
Isn't tl;dv already a European note taker? +
tl;dv is a German company and hosts its service in Europe, but its
privacy policy makes an exception for part of the artificial intelligence.
It lists AssemblyAI and ElevenLabs for transcription and Anthropic, through
Google Vertex, as its language model, and says parts of transcripts are
processed in the EU or the United States depending on a setting in your
account. Kasset runs transcription and AI in France, on Mistral, by
default.
Does tl;dv work with a Plaud recorder? +
We found no way to connect one on tl;dv's published pages; in person,
it records on its phone app. Kasset connects to a Plaud Note Pro or
NotePin S, so a meeting in the room, or a phone call on the Note Pro,
becomes a Kasset note, processed in France.
Is there a tl;dv alternative without a meeting bot? +
Kasset. It records Meet, Teams and Zoom from your computer, so no bot
ever joins, and it keeps the full conversation for your notes. tl;dv's
bot-free mode is in its desktop app and records audio only.
Where does Kasset process my meetings? +
In France. Audio is stored with Scaleway, the app and its database run
on Scalingo, and transcription, notes and search run on Mistral. A
workspace administrator can opt in to US providers, but nothing leaves
the EU unless they do. Where your data lives.
How does Kasset tell participants they are recorded? +
By email, before the meeting. Everyone on the invitation of a meeting in
your connected calendar gets a short notice up to 30 minutes before, on
by default, and can reply to you if they would rather not be recorded.
Can I bring my tl;dv recordings to Kasset? +
There is no tl;dv importer today. Keep your tl;dv library for the past,
and let Kasset take the notes from your next meeting on.

Meetings, voice notes and real-world conversations, captured in Europe
and ready when you need them.
tl;dv is made by Tldx Solutions GmbH, in Aachen, Germany. Its privacy
policy (September 2026) says its services are hosted in Europe "with the
exception of part of our service involving artificial intelligence", and
that data is primarily processed and stored in the EEA. It lists Google
Cloud, Hetzner and Wasabi for hosting, AssemblyAI and ElevenLabs for
transcription, and Anthropic through Google Vertex AI as its language
model; parts of transcripts are processed in the EU or the United States
depending on the AI hosting location chosen in the account. tl;dv says it
does not use customer content to train foundation models. Its bot joins
Meet, Zoom and Teams by default; bot-free recording is in the tl;dv
desktop app for Mac and Windows and captures audio only. We found no way to connect a Plaud or other recorder on tl;dv's published pages.
About Kasset
Plaud devices connect on Kasset Pro; phone calls need a Plaud Note Pro,
and the NotePin S records in person only.
Kasset has no importer for tl;dv recordings. Kasset is on Mac first;
Windows is coming, and the iPhone and Android apps are in beta. The
recording notice reaches invitees of meetings on a connected calendar, up
to 30 minutes before; it does not reach people who are not on the
invitation. A workspace administrator can opt in to US AI providers; by
default everything runs in France.
