The Otter alternative

Otter, but your meetings stay in Europe

Works with your Plaud, in the room and on phone calls.

Kasset takes the notes, without a bot in the call and without sending your conversations to the United States. Stored and processed in France, and never used to train a model.

Bring your Plaud

Plaud Note Pro and NotePin S, on Kasset Pro.

Otter can only take in transcripts the Plaud app has already made, through Zapier. Kasset connects to the device itself.

  • Meetings in the room Clip on a NotePin S or set a Note Pro on the table, and the client visit gets the same notes as your calls.
  • Phone calls Snap the Note Pro onto the back of your phone and it records both sides of the call for Kasset to write up.
  • No Plaud subscription Kasset takes recordings straight from the device and transcribes them in France. A yearly Pro plan includes the device.

Kasset vs Otter

Otter is a good note taker. The difference is where your conversations go, and what happens to them there.

Nobody sees a note taker join

Kasset records Meet, Teams and Zoom from your own computer. Your clients see you, not a bot. Instead, they get a short email before the meeting saying it will be recorded, and can reply if they would rather not be.

Made and hosted in Europe

Your meetings never cross the Atlantic

Recordings, transcripts and the AI that reads them all stay in France, under a DPA governed by Belgian law. And nothing you say is used to train a model.

A few useful answers

Questions?

Is there an Otter alternative that keeps data in Europe? +
Yes. Kasset stores and processes recordings in France by default, on Scaleway, Scalingo and Mistral, and does not use them to train models. Otter's privacy policy names Amazon Web Services in the United States as its storage provider.
Does Otter work with a Plaud recorder? +
Only at one remove: a Zapier automation can copy transcripts the Plaud app has already made into Otter, so you still need the Plaud app to transcribe them. Kasset connects to a Plaud Note Pro or NotePin S directly and transcribes the recordings itself, in France.
Does Kasset join meetings as a bot like Otter Notetaker? +
No. Kasset records from your computer, so nothing joins the call as a guest. Instead, by default, it emails the people invited to the meeting beforehand to say it will be recorded.
Can I move my Otter recordings to Kasset? +
There is no Otter importer today. You can keep your Otter archive and start new conversations in Kasset.
Does Kasset work with Claude and ChatGPT? +
Yes. Kasset runs an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot can read your conversations, read-only. How it works.
