Is there a Fireflies alternative that does not join meetings as a bot? +
Yes. Kasset records Meet, Teams and Zoom from your own computer, so no
notetaker appears in the participant list, on any meeting. Your
invitees get a short email beforehand instead, saying the meeting will
be recorded.
Does Fireflies work with a Plaud recorder? +
We found no way to connect one on Fireflies' published pages; you can
upload audio files instead. Kasset connects to a Plaud Note Pro or
NotePin S directly, so a meeting in the room, or a phone call on the
Note Pro, becomes a Kasset note without exporting anything.
Does Fireflies keep data in the EU? +
Only for storage, and only on Enterprise. Fireflies' guide says data is
stored and processed in the United States by default, and that with its
EU storage option "your data will be stored in the EU, but processed in
the US". Kasset stores and processes everything in France, on every plan.
Which AI providers does Fireflies use? +
Fireflies' sub-processor list names OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Baseten,
Perplexity and ElevenLabs for language models and audio, and AssemblyAI
and Soniox for speech to text, all in the United States where a location
is given. Kasset uses Mistral, in France, unless a workspace
administrator opts in to a US provider.
Will my clients know Kasset is recording without a bot? +
Yes, if the meeting is on your connected calendar. Kasset emails everyone
on the invitation up to 30 minutes before the meeting, on by default, and
anyone who would rather not be recorded can reply to you.
Can I import my Fireflies transcripts into Kasset? +
There is no Fireflies importer today. Keep your Fireflies archive, and
start new conversations in Kasset.
Does Kasset work with Claude and ChatGPT? +
Yes. Kasset's read-only MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
search your conversations and answer from them.
How it works.
